With December’s character trait of caring for others, please continue to encourage your child to practice helping others at home and at school and help them to collect loose change for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Pennies for Patients program. Our building wide goal is to collect $300 through this program that ends on the 23rd. Thanks for your participation. I hope you will also consider encouraging your child to take part in the St. Jude’s math-a-thon in January.

If you have not already ordered your DVD from our winter program and would like to do so, order envelopes are available in the office. The DVDs, which are $10 each, will be mailed directly to your home address.

We have several cookie containers still being held in the office. If you have not picked up the container that you donated cookies for our Cookie Walk in yet, please stop by and pick out yours.

The month of January promises to be a busy one at the Primary building. Remember, the children return for the second semester on Tuesday, January 5th. Report cards for the second quarter should arrive home in your child’s backpack on Friday, January 8th, the same day that we will kick off the St. Jude’s math-a-thon. The second Accelerated Reader party of the school year for the second and third graders will be held on the 15th. The third graders will be taking ITBS during the week of the 18th. One of our snow make up days will be held on January 18th. Please note that this is a change from the original district calendar. We have three early dismissals for teacher inservice scheduled for January – on the 13th , the 18th, and the 27th.

The holidays are quickly approaching. It is my sincere wish that each of you enjoy the holidays with your families and build some beautiful memories that will last a lifetime.
