About Our District

Welcome to the Southeast Warren Community School District. At SE Warren we offer the best of both worlds by providing the desirable benefits of a small school education for students but are within 30 miles of accessing the numerous recreational and employment opportunities of the Des Moines metro area.

Southeast Warren became a consolidated school district combining the schools of Milo, Lacona and Liberty Center in 1959. Each of the 3 towns that make up our school are rich in tradition and proud to support our Warhawk community.

Southeast Warren is composed of 4 learning centers located in our 3 cities. Our newest learning center is the Elzora Town Day Care Center which opened in 2016. Located in Milo, it is a DHS licensed daycare with a QRS rating of 4 stars. Children ranging from infants to 6th grade enjoy the quality care the center has to offer. The primary center also located in Milo serves students from PreK-3rd grade. The primary center was opened in 2001.  The intermediate center was also opened in 2001, it is located in Lacona and serves 4th-6th grade students. The 7th-12th grade building is located in Liberty Center. The Junior/Senior High School has many sports, clubs and fine arts activities allowing students to excel and explore in their individual areas of interest.

There are about 500 students that attend SE Warren and the district employs 100 people that are dedicated to the Southeast Warren mission of “Developing life-long learners and responsible citizens.” We all are very proud of our district and the community it serves.
